“After” is a book written by Anna Todd that was recently made into a movie now available on Netflix. The book follows the story of Tessa Young, a new freshman college student.

Tessa is extremely studious, has a steady boyfriend, and would never do anything to upset her mother. Once she gets to college, her roommate pulls her into an entirely different world.

At a party, she meets Hardin Scott, a British boy with tattoos and piercings. He is rude and obnoxious, but they begin to form a connection. They each love literature and are not as different as they seem. Romance and drama ensue.

Personal Review:

I love this story and the characters. I am already reading the second book in the series, which is called "After We Collided." "After" is filled with drama, but it always passes and allows Hardin and Tessa to be together.

The end of this book is not what you want it to be, but it is good to know that the series is continued and there is more of Tessa and Hardin’s story to be read. Although Hardin can be rude, he is a good person who has had a hard life.

Tessa is a great main character. She is vulnerable, smart and passionate about what she loves. I love how the main point of this book is the romance between Hardin and Tessa, yet you see Tessa find her passion at an internship with a publishing house and follow her own dreams.
