Theo James (left) stars with Rose Williams in the TV adaptation of Jane Austen's unfinished novel, "Sanditon," premiering on PBS Sunday (check local listings).

Since Sanditon” premiered Jan. 12 in the United States, I have been fully invested every week, right up to the finale.

While the final episode does not quite end how you want it to, this show is fantastic, and I highly recommend it. It is based on the unfinished novel by Jane Austen. The adaptation, done by Andrew Davies, focuses on content from the few chapters Austen wrote, while also incorporating his own material.

The story follows Charlotte Heywood, a young woman from a small town. She moves to Sanditon, an aspiring sea resort, with Tom Parker and his family after a chance encounter with them. There, she meets his brother, Sidney Parker, whom she forms a somewhat rocky attachment with.

There are many storylines to follow throughout the series, with a lot of drama, intrigue, humor and romance.

Personal Review:

Rose Williams and Theo James are the two stars of the show and they do a fantastic job with their characters.

I was fully invested from the beginning of the show to the end. I would absolutely love to see another season of this show. I looked forward to a new episode every week. There are a total of eight episodes.

My personal favorites were episodes six and seven. If you are a fan of Jane Austen, this is a wonderful adaptation and I highly recommend it. It is my favorite show of the year so far.

RATING: 5/5 Stars
