On Saturday afternoon the Illinois State Gymnastics team took on Southeast Missouri for their first home meet of the season. The Redbirds defeated the Redhawks with a close score of 192.075-190.925. The next home meet will be on Feb. 21 against Iowa State.

Hi Redbirds!

My name is Kaylee Sugimoto, and I’m a freshman here on the Illinois State gymnastics team. I’m from Camas, a city right on the border of Washington and Oregon. I’ve been in gymnastics since the age of 7, and it’s been a pretty big part of my life ever since. Starting from fourth grade until COVID-19 cut my senior year short, I have trained for five hours a day, five days a week.

Gymnastics is something I’m very passionate about. It’s extraordinary, unlike any other sport to exist. Not only am I going to write blog posts about popular gymnasts like Simone Biles, but I’m going to write about college gymnastics news and keep everyone updated on our own Redbird gymnastics as well.

I’m very excited to start sharing gymnastics news with you all!
