Anya Taylor-Joy stars in "The Queen's Gambit," debuting Friday on Netflix.

Due to the order on restaurants and bars in Illinois to close their indoor seating as well limit their hours, many will now find themselves indoors during the weekend. For those who are worried about facing boredom, here are some binge-worthy TV shows you could give a try.

‘The Queen’s Gambit’ (2020)

This drama miniseries is centered around Beth Harmon, a teenage chess prodigy in the ’50s and ’60s struggling with addiction, and her mission to become the greatest chess player and win the title of grandmaster.

This thrilling miniseries will hook you with its enticing period details and mesmerizing acting from lead actress Anya Taylor-Joy who captures the character’s quirkiness in a brilliant way . The Netflix series comes highly recommended by author Stephen King who calls it “the best of the best” of the shows he has watched during his quarantine.

‘Stranger Things’ (2016)

I know many will have probably already seen or at least heard of this popular horror/sci-fi TV show, but that doesn’t mean that it cannot be re-watched.

This award-winning show is the perfect escape from the currently frustrating and most of the time terrifying political world. The show includes iconic and moving characters that you will become attached to as well as an amazing use of CGI special effects. The action-packed show will keep you on your toes and give you major ’80s vibes.

‘Money Heist’ (2017)

This show follows a group of eight criminals, each with special talents, led by criminal mastermind nicknamed “The Professor” as they attempt to pull of the biggest heist in recorded history.

Their plan is to capture the Royal Mint of Spain and utilize their hostages to print billions of euros. This Spanish crime drama was created by Álex Pina but is still accessible to English speaking viewers seeing as it has been dubbed over.

Watch the heist unfold as the cunning Professor continues to outsmart the police who are planning his capture and feel the pressure alongside the heist members as time elapses.

‘Arrested Development’ (2003)

Follow Michael Bluth as he tries to keep his ridiculous family held together as well as run his family business after his father receives a prison sentence for fraud.

While watching the show, you will find yourself crying of laughter at these eccentric characters and the absurd situations they find themselves in. This Emmy and Golden Globe-winning show is known for its cult comedy style that is addicting. Frankly, you will be laughing at the stupidity of the characters that gives the show an endearing touch. You will also enjoy the familiar faces of Michael Cera, Jason Bateman and Will Arnett, should you choose to watch.

All shows listed above are available for streaming on Netflix.
