Some may associate legwarmers with their mother’s “Jane Fonda Workout Hour” VHS tapes of the 80s, but these simple sleeves have made a comeback and look fabulous with riding boots. Legwarmers have a stereotype of essentially being sweaters for your legs, but now there are ways to make them even more stylish than before. I was recently on Pinterest and saw this idea and wondered why someone hadn’t thought of this earlier. Yes, I spend entirely too much time on Pinterest, but at least I can admit my problem, right?

The idea of this post was to buy a pair of cheap, patterned leggings and cut them about five inches below the crotch or at the knee. This then leaves the leg part of the pants. Throw on a pair of black leggings, put the legs from the cut leggings on, and a pair of riding boots and you have instant legwarmers. This is great for the days you want to stay warm, but add a little pattern to your outfit. Also, if you struggle to find legwarmers in stores, sweater sleeves will give you the same outcome. Someone should really take a “Bill Cosby-esque” sweater and make legwarmers from the sleeves. The crazier the better, but just make sure not to mix too many patterns or you may look like a clown running around campus.
