For all students who are falling into a little bit of a fashion rut this season, the new vintage boutique in Uptown has plenty of fresh styles to spice up anyone’s look.
Butter Twice & Again, owned by Yvonne Wilson, is the newest vintage store front students have been waiting for. The shop first started out in the beloved Coffeehouse where many ISU students go for their favorite coffee drinks and vegan friendly foods.
Now having their very own store front, Butter Twice & Again possesses a cozy and inviting essence that seems to draw in many of ISU’s fashion enthusiasts. Butter has racks and racks of unique vintage pieces to choose from and it’s all hand-picked by owner Yvonne Wilson. Wilson has succeeded to score vintage finds from brands such as Adidas, Nike and Calvin Klein.
What is so interesting about Butter Twice & Again is their commitment to reaching the ISU and Bloomington/Normal community. The store often hosts various events to promote their business that seem to bring the whole community together to enjoy this great addition to Uptown Normal.
Yvonne says, “My favorite part about running Butter is the people. Seeing the regulars from Coffeehouse who have known me and have seen me grow up every day and the frequent students that come in is amazing. Getting to talk to people and ask them how they liked the item they bought or asking how they styled it is also so rewarding.”
Social media has also impacted Butter is many ways. By using actual Illinois State University students to model their clothing on their social media platforms, the store continues to receive the well-deserved recognition and pleasant feedback. Today, social media seems to play a big role in running a small business. Here’s what Butter Twice & Again owner Yvonne Wilson had to say about Butter’s journey with social media.
“I come from managing The Coffeehouse for about 7 to 8 years and I always heard that half of this campus didn’t know about The Coffeehouse. We had been around for a while and already had a good base. So, it was really important to me for the campus to be more involved in Butter.”
Wilson states, “When I started Butter, I knew that social media had to be a major aspect to keep up with and we are also adding a website that will launch January 1st, 2019. It will be called buttertwiceandagain.com.”
