Broadview Mansion passes pact with Normal

Broadview Mansion will be hosting Art Circle's art display from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Art is everywhere. Art is beaut, it is real and sometimes, it is completely odd. Classical and modern art opens doors and inspires, not just for the artists but for the art consumers, too.

Members of Art Circle will be sharing their art this year at the Broadview Mansion, just in time for the holiday season.

The Art Circle of Bloomington-Normal is a “creative community gathering in faith, hope and love inspiring beauty, truth and goodness through individual expression and appreciation of the arts.”

More than 20 pieces of two-dimensional art will be showcased in a variety of mediums including watercolor, acrylic, oil, mixed media, charcoal, pen and ink.

Alongside the various two-dimensional mediums, there will also be different sculptures displayed.

That said, Broadview Mansion will be decorated for Christmas as the art is displayed. It will be the perfect display of beauty: mixing holiday cheer and art together.

On behalf of the Art Circle, Janean Baird said Art Circle would “like to inspire students to create their own artwork” through seeing the local artists’ pieces.

“Piano music and refreshments during the art reception in this welcoming venue would be a respite for students in the midst of studying for finals,” Baird continued.

An opening reception with the artists displaying their work will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday at the mansion. At the same time, the Immanuel Bible Foundation will hold a Christmas Open House that will include music, mansion tours and dessert.

All art, musical performances and mansion tours will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Dec. 5, 6, 12, 13 and 14. The art can also be viewed Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9 – 11 a.m. from Dec. 5 – 19.

As a bonus, some of the displayed art will be up for sale. To discover more, visit for more information.
