The Bloomington Center for Performing Arts announced their 2019-2020 season, full of entertainment for everyone. 

From musical theatre to silent films, the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts's 2019-20 has something for everyone.

BCPA is bringing some big-ticket theatrical performances to town this season.

Watch 'Walking With My Ancestors: Cape Coast Castle' at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 pm Saturday, Sept. 21.

Tony Award winning musical, 'Beautiful: The Carole King Musical' will perform at 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20.

'Bandstand,' another Tony Award winning show will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22.

A new play festival, '#ShePERSISTED' will be at the theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 and at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2

'AQUILA THEATRE in 1984' will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22.

The last theatre performance in the season will be 'The Choir of Man' at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26.


If you're looking to jam out, the new season has a variety of music entertainment coming your way.

Josh Gracin will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13.

ETHEL & Robert Mirabal: The River will be at the theater at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20. There will also be a free performance from the group at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 at the Miller Park Bandstand.

Black Violin will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17

Dave Rudolf's: British Invasion Show will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

Catch The Four Italian Tenors performing at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Windham Hill Concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13.

The Drifters will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18.

Watch The Stray Cat Lee Rocker at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.

The Blooze Brothers will be performing at 7:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18.

Finally, The Brubeck Brothers Quartet will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25.


The upcoming season will also have a variety of comedy events if you’re looking for a laugh.

Catch MST3K – LIVE! At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Southern Fried Chicks Comedy Tour will make a stop at the BCPA at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25.

The Naked Magicians will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21.

Who’s Line is it Anyways’ Colin Mochrie’s HYPROV with Master Hypnotist Asad Mecci will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29.

Four different dance performances will also take place this upcoming season.

The Russian National Ballet will perform “Sleeping Beauty” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30.

The Lula Washington Dance Company will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15.

The Tap Pack will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28.

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 19.

Kids Shows

Looking for entertainment for the whole family? A variety of children’s shows will also be making their way to Bloomington this season.

Dave Rudolf: Kids Halloween Show will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

Pirate Penolope & Friends: 100 Cats and More! will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17.

Disney’s Frozen Jr. will perform at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4 and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 5.

Walk On: The Story of Rosa Parks will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9.

Watch The Magic of Bill Blagg LIVE! at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23.

Silent Films

Go back in time and watch some silent films with live organ accompaniment by Dennis Scott.

The Phantom Carriage’ (1921) will show at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Sherlock Jr.’ (1924) will show at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24.
