Best of BloNo - Uptown Gift's and Accessories

Uptown Gifts and Accessories won Best Speciality Store.

Editor’s Note: The Vidette recently surveyed the Illinois State University students, faculty and staff on their favorite businesses, facilities and activities. More than 400 people responded to the online survey. Copies of the Best of Blo-No magazine are still available at sites across campus or at The Vidette Building.

Uptown Gifts and Accessories was voted Best Specialty Store in BloNo

The store is located in Uptown Normal on West North Street. Uptown Gifts and Accessories is open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon-5 p.m. on Sundays.

“We enjoy all the college students that come in and shop with us,” manager Lisa Hofbauer said. “We are very thrilled that they like our store.”

Hofbauer adds that the store tries to carry brands that are good for college students. Some of these brands include Alex and Ani, Simply Southern, Kate Spade, Luca and Dani, Spartina and Mud Pie.

The store is also the largest Alex and Ani dealer in the Bloomington-Normal area.

Uptown Gifts and Accessories makes it a goal to sell items people in the community and college students would like, all while having an affordable price point. The boutique also wraps gifts for free.

“I think [people] should check [the store] out because we have got a great variety of product for them to look at,” Hofbauer said. “All the way from jewelry to clothes to purses. We love new customers.”
