Uptown Christmas Lights (copy)

There's plenty to do this weekend in BloNo, like checking out the lighted trees scattered throughout uptown. Uptown Circle hosts the largest group of decorated trees.

Looking for something fun to do this weekend in Bloomington-Normal? Look no further, here are five events happening Saturday and Sunday, many of which will get you in the festive spirit.

Book sale and signing, 'Broken & Beloved'

Bloomington author Feli Sebastian will host a signing and sale of their book "Broken & Beloved" from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at The Coffeehouse in Uptown Normal. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed. A portion of the event's proceeds will go to support Bloomington's Labyrinth Outreach.

Children's Discovery Museum's Reindeer Riddles

Until Dec. 31, the Children's Discovery Museum will be hosting a holiday hunt. Santa's reindeer have hidden riddles in Uptown Normal store windows. Participants who find and answer these riddles have a chance to win $500 cash.

Participants must purchase a $15 Reindeer Riddle Card from the museum either in person or online. Participants can also earn up to five additional entries by making five individual purchases of $10 or more from a participating uptown shop. The completed game cards must be turned into the museum before Jan. 11 to be entered in the raffle.

Holiday Luminary Stroll and Winter Warming Nights

The Mackinaw Valley Vineyard and Winery will host their Holiday Luminary Stroll and Winter Warming Nights event from 4:30-9 p.m. Saturday. Guests can check out all the holiday lights while enjoying some hot chocolate or hot cider. There will be multiple fire pits as well, and guests can bring their own materials for s'mores.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be spreading some Christmas cheer, and Mrs. Claus will host a story time for kids. There will also be live holiday music throughout the evening.

Holiday Farmers Market

Purchase any last-minute ingredients for holiday meals at the Holiday Farmer's Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grossinger Motors Arena. Masks must be worn and clear bags are required at the arena.

Uptown Holiday Windows

Take a stroll through Uptown Normal and enjoy the Holiday Windows display and all the festive lights. Uptown Holiday Windows are available for viewing until Dec. 31. Projections will be shown in Uptown Circle from 4-9 p.m. daily and will loop every 10 minutes. The projections are of hundreds of holiday images that show winter traditions and holiday celebrations and range from the 1940s to present.

The "Magic of Christmas Morning" display is inspired by the holiday windows often found at department stores. It's located where Uptown Circle and North Street meet.
