"Bandstand," the Tony Award winning Musical, will perform at Bloomington Center for Performing Arts from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Jan. 22.

The Tony Award winning Broadway musical “Bandstand” is headed to the Bloomington Center of the Performing Arts.

The performance will be from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Jan. 22.

Tickets range from $45-$65 and can be purchased at the BCPA box office or online at

The musical won a Tony for Best Choreography in 2017 and was nominated for Best Orchestrations. “Bandstand’s” choreographerAndy Blankenbuehlerwas also the choreographer for the hit Broadway musical Hamilton.

“Bandstand” follows a group of veterans who return home from World War II. To help cope with survivors' guilt and their post-traumatic stress the veterans form a band and enter a national patriotic radio contest in New York City.

The musical shows the trials and tribulations as this group of veterans find a place to call their own back in America, all while singing and dancing.
