Pizza and giveaways will be on tap Wednesday at 5 p.m. for all teacher education majors for the College of Education’s annual Back to School party on the DeGarmo Hall Plaza.
Many representatives from registered student organizations (RSOs) and faculty sponsors will be on hand to educate students on all there is to offer in the numerous teaching programs.
The event will feature two emcees, assistant professors Rollie Schendel and Alan Bates.
Schendel is a sponsor of the Male Educators RSO and an assistant professor in the School of Teaching and Learning.
Bates is associate professor and associate director of the School of Teaching and Learning.
“The annual Back to School party helps us spread the word about the many ways teacher education majors can get involved in on-campus organizations and community efforts that directly relate to their future careers in education,” said Director of College Advancement and Communications Stefanie Lee-Berardi.
“The event has grown every year, and we hope to see even more freshmen, transfer students and other teacher education students this year.”
In addition to pizza, all attendees will receive a College of Education branded kitchen utensil, and additional prizes will be given away throughout the event.
DeGarmo Hall is located between Cook Hall and Fell Hall on South University Street, on the west end of the Quad.
