With fall quickly approaching, most are ready to trade in flip flops for moccasins; tank tops for sweaters; and necklaces for scarves. Although the scarf, sweater, legging and boots combo screams fall comfort, it can quickly turn monotonous. This method of scarf tying has major potential to hit campus this fall. As college students, we are all about comfort, but with this simple tip, you can rock your scarf looking like you are straight from the runway.
I have seen this scarf style in magazines in the past and was a little skeptical, but I think it has the potential to look tasteful and professional. This style is called “The Bow.” For this method, you will have to put those infinity scarves aside and grab a scarf that has two ends. When you put it on, make sure one side is a little longer than the other. You then make a loop hiding the end. Your loop should be made in an upward movement. With the same piece of scarf, make a “bow” shape by pinching the middle. After, take the shorter piece of scarf and wrap it around the “bow” piece you are pinching and through the middle. Once you are done, pull the scarf so it is tight, and adjust the bow until you feel it looks just right.
This style looks great with a pair of skinny jeans and simple top, or with leggings and a sweater. It takes a few practice tries, but with the above steps you will be a pro in no time. Now, go grab a Pumpkin Spice Latte to get the full fall effect!
