It is fall; therefore carnivals, festivals and rides are the thing to do on the weekends. This past Sunday a swing ride at the Connecticut Oyster Festival carnival broke down and seriously injured 13 of those riding. The ride supposedly lost power during the middle of the ride, which caused some children fall forcefully to the ground. Some of the injuries were minor but a lot turned out to be serious. Many surrounding the ride said it was an extremely scary sight to see. This is a big eye opener for many. I myself was at a festival carnival this weekend and refused to go on the swing ride (because I am terrified of any rides) and commented that many of the rides looked dangerous. I just hope this sends a message to carnival ride operators to really inspect rides well before they put human lives at stake.
