If you ever find yourself needing a movie day (and we all do—frankly, the more the better), movies of the ‘90s are an obvious choice. This decade churned out so many awesome movies that fully deserve revisiting.
Just some of my favorite movies from this decade are listed below—many of which most of us were too young to watch when they first came out—but can still enjoy today. Maybe some of them are not so Oscar-worthy, but still perfectly awesome.
Never Been Kissed (1999)
I love the chemistry between Drew Barrymore and Michael Vartan. Barrymore’s performance as Josie Grosie kind of just touches your heart a little bit. And of course, David Arquette as Josie’s crazy older brother is awesome too.
This movie is a classic chick flick that could not be more cheesier but at the same time, a classic. Well known actors like Alicia Silverstone, Brittany Murphy, and Paul Rudd star is this 90’s film. The movie is about the daily life of Cher, a popular girl and her friends while she deals with the everyday issues of fashion, boys, friendships, and makeovers.
Space Jam (1996)
Space Jam is a classic staring iconic characters such as Michael Jordan, Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Loony Toons gang! The movie is based around Jordan’s real life career story with a comical twist adding in the Loony Toons gang joining in for the ride! If you have not yet watched this hilarious classic then it is a definite must see next time you’re in the mood to watch a movie!
She’s All That (1999)
The ever so charming Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook star in this classic 90’s movie about a Jock (Prinze) who takes a bet that he can turn an unattractive girl at school into a beautiful prom queen. Like many teen flicks, Prinze’s character begins to unexpectadly fall for Cook’s character for more than what the eye can see.
