Disney’s magical 1991 animated classic “Beauty in the Beast” is undeniably one of the finest family films ever created, packed with characters and songs loved all over the world.
Local fans of this wondrous classic are in for a treat; Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” the hit Broadway musical, will be at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) tomorrow, for one night only.
“It’s a traveling show,” Erin Mangian, marketing manager for the BCPA, said. “They’re only going to be in town for this one night and then they’ll be packing up and moving on to the next stop of the tour.”
It is not every day that production with as much impressive pedigree and acclaim as “Beauty and the Beast” stops in the ISU area.
“This is a very special opportunity because it is a Broadway show here in Bloomington-Normal,” Mangian said. “That doesn’t happen very often.”
The show promises to vividly bring to life all the songs and charm of the animated film.
“The show is full of lavish costumes and complex sets,” Mangian said.
“We love to see ISU students at our shows,” Mangian continued. “We welcome them to come.”
