Fire hydrant flushing will take place throughout the town of Normal this week as a part of the effort to remove any sediment or stagnant water from the distribution system as well as test the operation of the area’s fire hydrants.
Residents in the areas listed in the schedule below may experience temporary discoloring of their water. The Normal Water Department advises residents to avoid utilizing their washing machines while flushing is taking place between the hours of 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.
The purpose of the flushing process is to provide Normal residents with the highest quality of water as possible.
Please view the following schedule for information on where the fire hydrant flushing will take place this week.
10/13 to 10/16 – Areas north of College Ave. that are east of Constitution Trail and south of Shelbourne Drive. Areas also included are Beechwood Ct., Basswood Ln, Hertiage Rd., Regal Dr., Collie Ridge, Tramore Subdivisons and area east of Veterans Parkway and south of I-55.
10/15 to 10/16 – Areas west of Linden St. and North of Raab Rd. Heartland Ridge and Lincoln College will be effected as well.
10/5 to 10/18 – Areas south of College Ave. and east of Constitution Trail.
10/16 to 10/19 – Ironwood, Wintergreen, Northfields, Heather Ridge and North Bridge Subdivisions. Areas south of College Ave. and west of Constitution Trail, as well.
10/15 to 10/19 – Areas between west College Ave. and Raab Rd. that are west of Constitution Trail. Also, the Pines, Pheasant Ridge, Carriage Hills and Pinehurst Subdivisions.
