Kusin & Kusin Ltd. recently released its latest product, Reviver, the first ever dry deodorant for clothes designed for people on-the-go.
Reviver began selling at Walgreens nationwide two weeks ago in the laundry aisle. However, the actual product idea was brought up six years ago by Reviver CEO Ben Kusin.
“My brother thought of the product because he got tired of smelling like smoke and was trying to find ways to get rid of odor on clothes,” Eric Kusin, president of Reviver, said.
Reviver was created as a way for people to quickly freshen up whether they are on a smoke break, on their way to a meeting or just finished cooking.
“It’s like a mitt you put over two fingers and rub on your clothing,” Kusin said.
Having this product creates a more convenient way to eliminate odors without having to actually wash clothes or use perfume or cologne. With just a few swipes, similar to using a lint roller, Reviver leaves a citrus, cotton linen smell.
“We want people to have one in their car, pocket, gym bag, wherever,” Kusin said. “We don’t want someone to smell like they just got out of the gym.”
Reviver currently only has one gender neutral scent, but it still gives off a fresh smell to give users confidence throughout the day. It also comes in a resealable packet for extra convenience and travel use.
Walgreens teamed up with Kusin & Kusin in the past few weeks to be the first distributor of the product.
“As the nation’s largest drug store, it was important to target that environment,” Kusin said. “We were excited to work with someone who believed in Reviver as much as we did … And they do.”
Some students believe Reviver will not only increase confidence but decrease the hassle of washing clothes.
“I think if it were to work it would be pretty interesting, especially to college kids because they won’t have to do as much laundry and it saves time and money,” Erin Chaput, junior family and sciences major, said.
Reviver is currently sold at Walgreens in a travel pack size for $2.99. It is also sold on its website in six, 12 and 24-packs. The product can be used multiple times, so there is no need to dispose it after one use.
Reviver also began selling its Reviver Pets product exclusively at Petco back in July. It serves the same purpose of eliminating odors, except for cats and dogs.
