Derek Jeter moves to eighth on all-time hits list

New York Yankees veteran shortstop moves into sole position of eighth place on the all-time hits list Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Jeter had two hits in the first four innings of the game and increases his career total at 3,320 hits. The two hits also raised Jeter’s early season batting average to .286 from .167 before the game started. Derek Jeter announced before the season started that this will be his last before he retires as one of the greatest Yankees of all-time and future Hall of Famer.
