April brings vibrant spring trends

After a ridiculous amount of time spent in Ugg boots, puffy parkas and chunky scarves, we could all use a break from winter fashion. Thankfully, spring is finally here and with it comes all sorts of fun trends.

No more dark winter colors, because like every year, brights are the thing to wear for the spring season. Pastels have come back, but this year the spring staple is being done in a whole new way.

Neon pastels are the fabulous new trend that put a funky spin on classic Easter colors. They’re still super bright but much less obnoxious than your every-day neon.

These fab colors are best worn on accessories, like bags, scarves, jewelry and nails, as not to overwhelm your outfit. Because of the more muted colors, this season’s neons can be worn for work or play.

Neons aren’t the only colorful additions to spring style. Shades of blue are going to be popular in the upcoming months, especially when it comes to the festival trend.

Buy your Coachella outfit early, because this style is going to stick with us all the way through summer.

Tassels, fringe, suede and boho embroidery are the major assets of this look. Tribal prints and earthy jewelry are also details to look for.

Light-weight fabrics are common for this look, making it perfect for a warm spring day.

Even though we were all happy to see them go, I am equally happy for them to return. The ‘90s fad, light-washed jeans, are back in the picture, but this time we’re doing them right.

Light-washed denim is best worn distressed in either a skinny or boyfriend jean. You can play with accessories to liven these bad boys up.

Throw on a cute belt and a flowey top with your comfy BF jeans for a stroll across the blooming Quad, or cuff the bottoms of your skinnies and pair them with a floral scarf and polished nude heels for a family brunch.

Prints are the hottest style for tops and bottoms this year, but not the boring old florals we’re used to.

Unique prints like bright geometric, vibrant tribal and watercolor floral are just a few of the crazy cool prints that will be showing up on blouses, jackets and tees.

Printed pants are another way to jazz up your style and spring is the absolute best time to wear them. Whether they’re polka-dotted, floral, tribal or abstract, this is a trend you have to try.

It might sound scary, but they’re surprisingly easy to wear. The secret is to put them with a well-structured, plain top and major neckwear to even out your look.

If you want to add a bright twist to your outfit, but don’t want to spend a fortune at the mall, just take a quick trip to the nearest Walmart and your problems will be solved. Yep, I’m talking about the cosmetic aisle.

Bold lips are what’s happening in the beauty world. Whether you prefer bright gloss, tinted balm or vibrant lipstick, you can find a color that’s right for you.

If you’re looking to make a big statement, try out the Pantone color of the year, Radiant Orchid.

If you prefer to be more on the safe side, a nice coral or bubblegum pink will also suffice.
