It was announced that Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is a finalist for the Selke Trophy, which is given out to the best defensive forward in the NHL. Among Toews are two other finalists, Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings and Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins. Kopitar appeared in all 82 games for the Kings this season and had the second-most ice time among forwards behind Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby. The Kings allowed a league-low average of 2.05 goals per game. Boston’s Bergeron led the NHL in faceoff wins with 1,015; the most by any player in the past seven seasons. Jonathan Toews, who won the Selke last season, placed fifth in the NHL in faceoff wins with 884. The winner will be honored at the NHL Awards on June 24in Las Vegas.
