1. Lollapalooza

One of the most anticipated music festivals of the year is just a few months away. It will be held Aug. 1-3 in Grant Park. The line up is one you won’t want to miss. Headliners include Eminem, OutKast, Kings of Leon, Skrillex, Calvin Harris and one of the latest music hits: Lorde. In Grant Park, there are many different stages different concerts going on at the same time. If you were lucky enough to get tickets before they sold out, be sure to pack plenty of water and sunscreen.

2. North Coast Music Festival

North Coast is celebrating its 5th year anniversary this year. North Coast is for all you EDM junkies out there. If you’re into EDM you won’t want to miss North Coat on Aug. 29-31 in Lincoln Park. Headliners include BassNectar, Kid Cudi, Snoop Dogg, DaDa Life and Zeds Dead.

3. Pitchfork

Pitchfork is a famous festival that has been up and running since 2006 and over 50,000 people attend each year. Pitchfork is also held in Chicago at Union Park. This festival brings you a various array of off the mainstream artists in the alternative, rap/hip-hop and electronic genres. This year it will be held on July 18-20.

4. Beyoncé and Jay-Z: Power Couple Performance

Queen Bey is coming to take over Chi-City this summer with hubby, Jay-Z. They will take the stage together for the “On The Run” tour, a must see concert event. This year, the Queen dropped her album surprise style and fans went wild. The couple will perform at Solider Field in Chicago on July 24 at 8 p.m.

5. Luke Bryan 

Don’t you worry; we didn’t forget the country music enthusiasts out there. The famous Luke Bryan will be headed to Chicago this summer as well. His much anticipated “That’s My Kind of Night” tour is sure to be a hit. He will also perform at Solider Field. Mark down August 31, on your calendars, Luke’s coming to town. Sounds like my kind of night, (pun intended).
