Endurance Dance Team will be among the several dance teams ISU already offers.
Maria Anchacles is the brains behind the new Registered Student Organization (RSO) at Illinois State University: Endurance Dance Team.
“Endurance is a dance team in which our participants will express themselves though the art of dance,” Anchacles said.
Anchacles and her team hope to provide students with a passion for dance, an opportunity to share their skills and a way to meet new people with common interests.
Anchacles came up with the idea of creating a fun and dedicated dance team with a few of her friends who love to move it on the dance floor. Endurance will perform in different on-campus activities such as Festival ISU, Homecoming, RSO Events and more.
Anchacles hopes to pair the dance team with a local charity group to host events and involve young girls in their performances.
Her goal for this year is to make the team an open and fun group for students who love dancing. Endurance currently has five executive members.
Tryouts for perspective students looking to get involved will be held in the fall semester. Endurance is looking to add 10 to 15 more members to be part of the dance program. Endurance plans to practice one to two hours a week, host charity showcases, team performances and be a part of other big events on campus.
