Campus is buzzing about rising star Iggy Azalea’s upcoming show this fall. The concert, put on by the University Program Board, will take place in the Braden Auditorium on October 18.
The 24-year-old recording artist, model, and rapper had her big breakthrough in 2011 with her debut mixtape, “Ignorant Art.” However, she recently rose to the top of the charts with her major hit, “Fancy” and her duet with singer Ariana Grande in, “Problem.” Both songs have reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 list.
Azalea is the first artist to have two songs rank numbers one and two simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 list since The Beatles.
She also surpassed rapper Lil’ Kim as the female rapper with the longest-leading number one single on the list.
In April of this year Azalea released her latest album, “The New Classic,” which has been a major success and has held a position at the top of the charts for almost four months.
Her catchy pop tunes combined with her impressive rapping has created one great hit after another.
