Dining centers going cash-free

Illinois State Campus Dining is now cash-free at the dining centers and locations outside the Bone Student Center. Beginning this fall semester, campus dining went with a new initiative that many newer grocery stores such as Standard Market and festivals like Lollapalooza have already jumped on board with.

Flex Dollars, Redbird Dollars and credit or debit cards are accepted at Watterson and Linkins dining centers, Jamba Juice in the Campus Recreation Center, the Business Bistro in the State Farm Hall of Business and Airport Lounge in Centennial Hall. Cash will no longer be honored at these locations.

This will enhance safety and security on campus and will help decrease long lines as well. This will also enable staff to focus more on serving customers rather than having to manage cash.

Einstein Bros. Bagels at Milner Library was a pilot test for this system that was implemented since opening November 2013.
