Miley Cyrus brings homeless criminal date to VMA’s

After Miley’s controversial behavior, otherwise known as “twerking” on singer Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, she decided to stand for a good cause, homelessness. Cyrus’ brought 22 year-old Jesse Helt, to accept her award for Video of the Year “Wrecking Ball.”

Helt met Cyrus through My Friend’s Place, a Los Angeles center for homeless youth. When giving Cyrus’ acceptance speech, he had Cyrus in tears when he spoke of youth homelessness.

According to ABC News Helt has a warrant out for his arrest in his home state of Oregon for “criminal mischief” and “attempted burglary.” In 2011 the warrant was issued due to failing to report for probation and completion of urine tests. ABC was informed by judicial services that if police found Helt, he would be arrested.
