Sunday, August 23 At 2:17 a.m., officers arrested a student after being approached by three students and notified of sexual assault and battery.
According to the victim, the student approached her while working an event in the Bone Student Center earlier that night and grabbed her buttocks twice, once over her clothing, once inside. After refusing and attempting to run from the student, the victim was struck on the right side of her face. She later positively identified the student, who was taken into custody and charged with one count of aggravated battery, one count of illegal possession of alcohol by a minor; one count of resisting, obstructing and disarming an officer and one count of unlawful restraint. At 2:54 a.m., ISU Police arrested a student after several witnesses claimed the student physically abused his girlfriend in his car along College Avenue after a fight ensued regarding the student’s friends wanting to hang out. The student was charged with one count of domestic battery and was transported to McLean County Jail for processing. At 6:06 p.m., two students were arrested after officers suspected the use of cannabis in their Watterson Towers residence. The two were subsequently charged with five counts of drug paraphernalia, one count of possession of cannabis under 2.5 grams and one count of possession of a controlled substance. They were transported to McLean County Jail for processing. Tuesday, August 25 At 12:45 a.m., ISU Police arrested a student on one count of possession of cannabis under 10 grams and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia outside Watterson Towers after identifying the odor of cannabis emanating from the designated smoking area on the west side of the tower. At 7:19 p.m., officers arrested two students after identifying an odor of cannabis coming from their Wilkins Hall residence. Each student was charged with four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of cannabis 2.5 to 10 grams and were transported to McLean County Jail for processing. |
