One year ago: Local recreation and historic sites forced to close due to budget cuts, limited funding and the low volume of visitors. The David Davis Mansion is one of the local historical sites closed in Bloomington-Normal. Five years ago: Preparation for the Bone Student Center renovations begins. Plans are being made to improve the dining area and add offices for the University Program Board. 10 years ago: A canopy over the plaza space in front of Milner begins. The tension membrane structure is built as a drainage system to stop leaking in Milner Library’s first floor. 20 years ago: Student leaders successfully revised ISU’s tailgating policies. The proposal consists of guidelines for alcohol consumption, which include designated parking lots where alcohol is permitted for students over 21. |
