Jack and Meg White announced early this morning that they have officially disbanded. However, everyone should have seen it coming, since they hadn’t released new material in over four years. In a blog post on their website, the duo insisted that there are no hard feelings towards one another, stating that “the reason is not due to artistic differences or lack of wanting to continue, nor any health issues as both Meg and Jack are feeling fine and in good health. It’s for a myriad of reasons, but mostly to preserve what is beautiful and special about the band and have it stay that way.” The band formed in 1997 and burst into the mainstream with 2001’s "White Blood Cells." Their 2007 album, "Icky Thump" received good marks from critics and was a fan favorite as well. So, what are your thoughts on the breakup? |
