Now listen, I’ve been an occasional “Jersey Shore” viewer since season one…. don’t judge me.

Anybody that has watched the show can’t deny that it is extremely entertaining. Watching Snookie prance around the shore house in a pair of slippers that look as if they were recently dug out of a trash can is something that I find to be extremely entertaining.

The point where I refused to continue supporting this show, however, is when I took a moment and realized that these people are becoming celebrities. You heard me, celebrities! While it may be enjoyable to laugh at their dim witted antics, it’s another thing to contribute towards them gaining celebrity status. What have these people done to all of the sudden become wealthy television stars?

I, for one, was under the impression that the show was a mockery of these individuals’ sheer stupidity. But as it turns out, they believe that they are truly admired and respected by the viewing population… what a joke.

A few of the cast member are even releasing their own books.

I honestly had no idea that these individuals even knew how to read none-the-less write books. The saddest part of all of this may lie in the fact that some people will inevitably purchase these books, thus fueling the fire that keeps these individuals’ egos absurdly high.

I heard word that there was even going to be a fourth season in which the show will be based in Italy. That’s right; these people are even given the opportunity to explore the world. And for what? All they seem to do is get wasted on a nightly basis and make fools of themselves.

While the show may be entertaining at the very least, I can no longer watch these people make a successful living out of being, simply put, useless. I don’t know about you guys, but this is where I put my foot down…
