Monday, September 19

An officer responded to a hit and run report at 6:42 p.m in the South University Street Parking Garage. The student parked her car on the lower level where the rear passenger door was damaged between 1:55 a.m. and 6:40 p.m. There are no suspects.

Tuesday, September 20

An officer responded to the ninth floor of Manchester at 10:35 p.m. to a theft report. A student said she left her cell phone and wallet in Watterson Commons at 5:40 p.m. Her belongings were later found at the Amtrak station and returned to the Normal Police Department.

Wednesday, September 21

An officer responded to a theft report at University High School at 10 a.m. A U-High student reported cash and his cell phone missing from his locker in the boy’s locker room between noon and 1 p.m on Sept. 20. There are no suspects.

At 10:20 a.m., an officer responded to University High School for a theft report. A U-High student reported missing cash from her wallet which was in an unsecured book bag in the girl’s locker room. The theft occurred between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.

An officer on vehicle patrol responded to a suspicious activity report at 10:15 p.m. in the South Park pavillion. A juvenile student was arrested for possession of cannabis. He was later released to his dorm room with his mother’s permission.

Thursday, September 23

An officer responded to a verbal altercation on the southeast side of Atkin-Colby Hall at 1:22 a.m., while on bike patrol. A student was arrested for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor and resisting an officer. Cleared by adult arrest.

An officer responded to Manchester Hall at 11:20 a.m. after pro-staff reported an unknown male occupying the 11th floor men’s restroom.

Two students were arrested at the ISU Parking Lot S-81 at 10:12 a.m. for possession of cannabis and drug equipment after police responded to a suspicious activity report.

An officer met with Turner Hall staff in regard to a suspicious activity report. According to the staff member, a cash register was found empty on the north side of the building. No suspects have been determined.

A student was arrested for possession of cannabis after officers responded on foot patrol to his fifth floor Wilkins Hall room. The student has been referred to Community Rights and Reponsibilities.

An officer responded to the Science Lab Building at 7:31 p.m. to a criminal defacement report. Some time after 1 a.m., an unknown person smeared feces across the walls, stalls and ceiling of the men’s first floor restroom, staff reported.

Friday, September 24

Officers arrested a student for aggravated battery and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor after breaking up a fight in progress outside Atkin-Colby residence halls at 2:35 a.m.

No suspects have been determined in a criminal damage to state property. At 11:12 a.m., an officer on foot patrol responded to the south hallway of the 10th floor of Colby Hall after a report of a broken mirror. The damage occurred between 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23 and 12:20 a.m. on Friday.

An officer responded to ISU Parking Lot F-43 for a burglary report. A female student noticed items missing from her vehicle at 5:01 p.m., and stated that her car was parked in the lot between 9 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. No suspects have been determined.

Saturday, September 25

An officer responded to a theft report in Hewett Hall at 2:15 a.m. A student reported an unknown male took his personal items and jacket from behind the front desk. One of the items and the student’s jacket were later recovered. The case is pending.

While driving on North Fell Avenue at 3:14 a.m., an officer was struck in the face by a water balloon. A student was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, reckless conduct and battery. The case was referred to Community Rights and Responsibilities.

A student walked into the police department to report the theft of his laptop and binder. He left both items on the west edge of lot G-82 on Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. When he returned at 6:30 p.m., the items were missing. There are no suspects.

A student approached officers at 12:29 p.m. to report criminal damage to his motorcycle while it was parked on the concrete pad south of the School Street Garage. The student parked his motorcycle around 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24 and received a phone call from the Normal Police Department around 4 a.m. on Saturday notifying him that his motorcycle had been knocked over. No suspects have been determined.
