On Friday, April 20, the University Program Board will provide a game truck and free bowling as a part of Sibling Weekend. The game truck will be parked in the Bone Student Center parking lot nearest the Bowling and Billiards Center from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. Free bowling will be available in the Bowling and Billiards Center from 6 p.m. until midnight. Inside the game truck, multiple video game systems will be set up, including a Wii, Xbox, and Playstation. Participants are allowed to play whatever system they choose for a set amount of time. “Every 15 minutes they let in 20 people. They can pick out whatever game they want to play. There are leather couches and a bunch of TVs, and they play for twenty minutes. It’s a rotation,” Rachael Lewandowski, chair for the Redbird Family division of UPB, said. At the Bowling and Billiards Center, students and their siblings can enjoy free bowling and billiards. No registration is required for either event, but they do get busy. In addition to free games, the Bowling and Billiards Center has a snack bar. They will offer nachos, pizza, Ball Park Franks, cookies, and more for hungry bowlers. “We’ve done the free bowling over Family Weekend too, and we had about 300 people show up. With the addition of the game truck, hopefully there will be a lot more people because it’s something new and it’s very large,” Lewandowski said. The UPB is hosting the game truck and free bowling and billiards on Friday night but they are also hosting events on Saturday. “On Saturday, we have free inflatables and snacks on the Quad from 8 [p.m.] until 10 p.m.,” Lewandowski added. Other RSOs and groups at ISU will also be hosting events throughout the weekend to make ISU siblings feel welcome. Events are catered to all ages and students are free to invite any of their siblings. For a complete calendar of times, locations, and events visit Alumni.IllinoisState.edu/events/siblingweekend.
