Up Late at State invites students to come enjoy dinner provided by Campus Dining Services and a show featuring improv comedy from The Second City.

“Bon Appétit!” will take place at 8 p.m. tonight in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center.

“Students will be able to treat their taste buds with a tour of ISU Catering’s best,” Michelle Stover, Late Night Programming Specialist, said.

There will be eight different entrées and four side samplers to choose from.

“The meal includes appetizers, such as bruschetta and baked mushroom caps with Italian sausage … and to drink, students will enjoy mock-tails,” Stover said.

If students have some room left in their stomachs after dinner there will be plenty of desserts for them to try.

“The dinner will be buffet style, and then you will eat at a table and stay to watch the show from your seat,” Stover said.

The Second City is the leading brand in improv-based sketch comedy and has been called a “comedy empire” by the New York Times.

The training centers have many programs, including a beginning program, writing, directing, youth programs and youth and teen summer camps to name a few.

John Belushi, Mike Myers, Bill Murray, John Candy, Tina Fey, Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert are all alumni of The Second City.

Bon Appétit! is free to ISU students, and it is strongly encouraged that they bring their student ID. Seating is limited to 514 people, so do not expect to show up late for the free food.

“I encourage students to come, and come early,” Stover said.

This is the last Up Late at State event of the year.
