This holiday season, the McLean County Arts Center is hosting the Holiday Treasures Exhibition & Sale with unique gifts for everyone. The Holiday Treasures Exhibition will run until Saturday, Jan. 5. More than 100 locally and nationally known artists’ work is featured in the exhibition. Their work includes paintings, glass, fiber, photography, jewelry, wood, ceramics and handmade seasonal items. “For me, the best part of Holiday Treasures is to have the opportunity to buy local, original artwork and give someone a truly unique gift for the holiday,” Claire Hedden, curator at the McLean Country Arts Center, said. But the draw does not stop there. The galleries are decorated specifically for the gift-giving season. The good news is that everything is for sale, and prices begin at $5. The Holiday Treasures Exhibition is a great place to get holiday shopping done, especially for college students. “I think college students would have great success finding holiday gifts here for anyone, from handmade soap to silver jewelry to blown glass,” Hedden said. The exhibition can even make for a perfect day out with friends. The McLean County Arts Center is located at 601 N. East St. in downtown Bloomington. Their opertating hours are Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. |
