Ron Nurceski is now offering “Monday Night Chasers” at his downtown Bloomington bar, Chasers. Monday Night Chasers began two weeks ago. “MNC will resume when school begins again in January,” Nurceski said. The plan is to continue MNC for the rest of the school year, he added. MNC’s drink deals include free cover all night, $1 domestic bottle beers and $2 shots, he said. The deals are available to the general public in addition to students who want to come to Chasers on Monday nights, Nurceski added. Nurceski came up with the idea for MNC when he began to hear many students were taking buses to the bars near the University of Illinois for their Monday night drink deals. “I heard some students complaining about the long bus rides to U of I so I figured it would be a good idea to start giving deals on Monday nights in Bloomington because it is much closer for them,” he explained. “Sure enough this idea worked and we had a pretty big turnout on the first Monday,” he said. Joe’s Brewery in Champaign offers drink deals on Monday nights including $2 Sailor Jerry’s. White Horse bar, also located in Champaign, offers $1 domestic beers on Monday nights. Nurceski said he considered the first MNC a huge success and expects it to become more popular each week it is offered. “We have the best drink deals on Monday nights with a great live DJ and the biggest dance floor,” he added. Chasers bar is located in downtown Bloomington at 110 W. Washington St.. Chasers will not be open tonight, but it will resume when classes start in January. |
