Last weekend, the ISU and Creighton baseball teams faced off in their final regular-season conference series matchup ever as the ’Jays will be in the Big East starting next season. The Redbirds (31-17, 11-4 MVC) won the series, taking two of three games from CU on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sunday’s defeat halted ISU’s 12-game winning streak.

For the second day in a row, Illinois State baseball faced off against a non-Division I foe. After ISU defeated Illinois Wesleyan on Tuesday, the Redbirds earned the same result, winning for the second day in a row, 10-0 over Webster on Wednesday at Duffy Bass Field in seven innings.

After finishing in the Sweet 16 of the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association’s National Competition in early April, the Illinois State club roller hockey team feels it has done well this season. Jimmy Carbone and Frank Loizzo make up the dynamic duo that hopes to lead the roller hockey team to Nationals again next year.

 
Geno Smith fires agent after first round of NFL draft PDF Print

Many fans may not totally be satisfied with their favorite NFL teams picks in the recent draft, but one player was surely more than disappointed. Geno Smith, quarterback from West Virginia, was snatched up by the New York Jets as the 39th overall pick. After Smith realized he wasn’t going to be picked during day one of the draft, he made the decision to fire his agent.
