After hanging near the middle of the pack through the first two days of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament, the Illinois State women’s golf team pulled through to a first-place victory on Tuesday to bring home the conference championship. This marks the team’s 13th conference title overall, and its fifth in the last six seasons.

This season’s third-place national finish for the Illinois State club hockey team was recognized with yet another honor this month as the Brian Corley, club hockey coach, was recognized as the 2013 American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 2 Coach of the Year.

After defeating the University of Northern Iowa (6-1) on Saturday, the Illinois State women’s tennis team was defeated by Drake Sunday with a score of 4-3. Sunday’s match had initially been scheduled to be played at the Gregory Street Courts in Normal, but instead was played at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington due to the weather.

After falling to Drake 6-1 on Saturday, the Illinois State men’s tennis team defeated Creighton in a conference play shutout with a score of 7-0 Sunday. This marked the Redbirds’ final conference match of the season, and this victory bumped them up to a 2-3 record in the Missouri Valley Conference.
