Despite the cold and rainy weather, the ISU softball team faced Indiana State at home. The Redbirds were scheduled to play the Sycamores twice for a doubleheader on Wednesday, but the weather did not permit the second game.

After Kobe Bryant’s recent injury people may have forgotten about Louisville’s Kevin Ware. Ware, who wears number five, was the player that went down in the Elite Eight game against the Duke Blue Devils with a terrible leg injury, resulting in his tibia thrusting out of his skin. A couple weeks ago he went in for surgery to repair his compound fracture.

For the second time in a week span, Illinois State baseball hosted an in-state foe. However, unlike last week against NIU, the Redbirds (19-16) fell to Illinois, 12-1, Tuesday night at Duffy Bass Field in a game that was shortened to eight innings due to the 10-run rule in non-conference contests.

 
’Birds seal another top-five finish PDF Print

Coming off of a second-place finish in Bloomington, Ind., last weekend at the Hoosier Invitational, the Illinois State men’s golf team rallied its way to another top-five finish on Monday and Tuesday at the Kemper Intercollegiate Tournament at Northwestern. The Redbirds finished the tournament with a team score of 881 (298-292-291), good for third place to close out play on Tuesday.
