The people on the left who keep saying "Don't defund ACORN," and "Don't defund PP" and "Don't defund NPR" are not living in reality. Do they not realize the financial ruin this country is in right now? Drastic cuts need to be made. Not everything can be called a "useful service" or an "affordable resource." People need to take a look at our debt- I mean a real hard look at our debt- and then tell me if we can afford half the things we're spending money on. $70 million may just be a fraction, but it's still $70 million poorly spent. Defund it.

First, I simply disagree that it was just the one tape in question. Other videos have been equally as condemning. Second, a PP executive said that he believes the tapes were edited or doctored. When asked if he has seen the videos yet, he said "I actually have not seen the tape yet." Does that sound like an honest organization worthy of taxpayer money? You mention the defunding bill. You know what else Congress is considering cutting? Everything. Look at the state of our debt. If typically untouchables like defense and entitlements are on the table, so must be things like PP. They have an annual budget of $1 billion, and the federal $70 million is less then 10 percent of that. They have over 800 branches nationwide. If push comes to shove, I think they can afford to close a few. They'll be just fine. They can seek donations from pro-abortion advocates. They can hold fundraisers or otherwise compete in the marketplace.
