Illinois State University’s  Black Student Union will be hosting its annual Black Heritage Ball from 7-10 p.m. Feb. 29 in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center.

Doors for the event open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $2.

All ticket proceeds will be donated to “Black Lives Matter BloNo.”

This year’s theme is African Diaspora, a phrase that honors the rich diversity of African and Afro-descendant peoples.

The ball will include food, music, performances, dancing and a keynote speaker. Formal attire for the ball is required.

While BSU sponsors the event, the ball is a celebration of community, culture and performance.

BSU also aims to continue hosting events that strengthen cultural and political awareness and student leadership throughout campus and the community.
