A Bloomington man was arrested by Normal Police Thursday night at around 7 p.m. in connection to multiple criminal sexual assault and abuse charges.  

According to a Normal Police report, the multiple charges stem from a sexual assault with a juvenile victim known to the offender that took place March 21 at an apartment in the 1500 Block of Hovey Avenue in Normal.  

Reports state that the male was identified as Adam L. Simmons, 41, of Bloomington and is being held in the McLean County Jail on a $500,000 bond in which 10% cash applies.  

Simmons was arrested for criminal sexual assault and force, criminal sexual assault with the victim under 18, aggravated criminal sexual assault and threatening of life, aggravated criminal sexual assault and bodily harm, criminal sexual abuse and force, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and threatening of life and aggravated criminal sexual abuse with the victim under 18. 

According to the report, the Normal Police will not release any more details concerning this case due to the age of the victim in the case.
