2013 as record breaking year for Normal PD

At around 1:13 a.m. Saturday, the Normal Police Department (NPD) responded to the 600 block of South Fell Street with a report of a male victim of a gunshot, according to a press release.

Officers found a 20-year-old male victim outside an apartment with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Advocate Bromenn Medical Center by the Normal Fire Department.

The victim was admitted and taken to surgery for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers learned a single shot was fired inside an apartment during a large party. The apartment was secured and detectives were granted a search warrant.

Party-goers and witnesses fled the area when they heard the gunshot.

NPD is seeking public help in locating witnesses or speaking with those that attended the party and left the area before speaking with officers.
