Heartland Community College will be hosting the Heartland Harvest 5K from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 19.
There is a $25 registration fee for those who register by Oct. 18. Those who plan to register the day of the race will pay a $30 registration fee.
The packet pick-up and day-of registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the Fitness and Recreation Center gymnasium.
The 5K is in support of the key programs and student scholarships at the college.
The course will lead participants through the college’s Normal campus to the Corn Crib and back.
Participants will finish at the Fitness and Recreation Center where post-race snacks will be available.
Participants will be timed by the Lake Run Club. They will also be provided a pre and post-race exhibition with promotions and giveaways from event sponsors and other community businesses and organizations.
There will be an awards ceremony following the completion of the tabulation. The awards will be given to the top three runners in each respective age division.
However, overall male and female runners are excluded from the age group winners.
