The holidays are a time of giving.

There will be a holiday food drive in three locations for this holiday season. One of them in Heritage Health, the second one in Evergreen Place and finally Adelaide apartments.

Donations start now through Dec. 15 and will go to School Street Student Food Pantry and Home Sweet Home, a homeless shelter.

Alison Skelton, the community relations coordinator of the food pantry, says it is a great way to kick off the holidays.

“I hope [people] get the satisfaction of being able to give to those who aren’t that fortunate,”Skeltonsaid.

She is expecting 250 donated items this holiday. Box items, drinks and cans are some common items that are donated.

With holiday breaks coming up, pantries suggest it is time to clean the pantry and instead of throwing it all away, consider donating it.
