The Normal Police Department responded to a reported home invasion around 5 p.m. Saturday.
The incident occurred at an apartment at 9 Traders Circle. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim who reported a male knocked on the door and when she answered, he entered the apartment by force.
Once the suspect was in the apartment, he held the female at knifepoint and demanded property. The male fled the address in an unknown direction, and the victim was the one who called the police.
Detectives and crime scene technicians processed the address to locate any evidence.
A police K-9 unit tracked the immediate area near the apartment and a canvass of the neighborhood was also conducted, but did not lead to an arrest.
The reported injuries were not life threatening.
The incident remains under investigation. The Normal Police Department asks for the public’s help in locating any witnesses or speaking with residents of visitors who might have seen suspicious activity on that date.
