A man had been arrested in connection with gun fire that erupted outside of an apartment in the early hours of the morning.

Officers were called to the scene of reported gunfire at the 1700 block of North School Street at 6:42 a.m. Officers located Demetrius Dawson, age 18, along with evidence relating to the fired shots. There were no injuries reported. 

Dawson is currently being held in the McLean County Jail under the following charges: Reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, illegal possession of ammunition.

He was also arrested on several drug-related charges, including manufacture or delivery of between 15 and 100 grams Ecstasy, manufacture or delivery of 1 or 14 grams heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis between 30 and 500 grams.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Darren Wolters or McLean County Crime Stoppers. Callers are eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
