In wake of the recent mass shootings, the local chapter of Moms Demand Action on Gun Sense will host a rally at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the McLean County Museum of History.

Nine people were killed in Dayton, Ohio, on Sunday morning, leaving 26 injured. In El Paso, Texas, 20 people were killed and 26 more were injured on Saturday morning.

Another wave of violence has motivated the women of Moms Demand Action to rally community members together for an hour-long “call to action.”

The rally will provide a safe space for the community to grieve another loss, but also present facts about the reality of growing gun violence across the country. While the Parkland school shooting in March 2018 triggered action locally, the national organization has been around since 2012 following the Sandy Hook shootings.

Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence.
