A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash on Veterans Parkway Sunday night.

According to a Bloomington Police report, officers were dispatched to Veterans Parkway near the south Main Street intersection in response to a car accident with multiple injuries.

A motorcycle struck the rear end of another car at a high rate of speed, the report stated.

The motorcycle driver was an adult man. He was transported from the scene of the accident to St. Joseph’s Emergency Room, according to the report.

Police said that as of Sunday night the man was stable, but in critical condition. His current condition is not known. The motorcyclist was issued two citations as a result of the accident, the report stated.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained on the scene during the investigation. Police later released the driver from the scene without citation or arrest.

Parts of Veterans Parkway were blocked off by officers and traffic was rerouted for several hours while the scene was under investigation.

No further information is available as this case is still pending investigation.
