Power has been restored to all campus buildings, according to a late-morning update from Illinois State University campus.
The announcement said: "As Ameren works to repair damage, intermittent outages are possible. University personnel will continue to monitor in the coming hours."
The university said earlier that the outage was the result of an animal in the Osage substation.
A map issued during the outages showed a number of key campus buildings affected by the blackout.
To report any ongoing issues regarding this power outage, ISU personnel are asked to contact Facilities Management at 309-438-5656
This is the second outage at ISU in less than a week. Last Thursday afternoon power was lost at seven buildings for about an hour. That outage came during the oppressive heat wave in Bloomington-Normal. Building hit were: Center for Performing Arts, Stevenson Hall, Milner Library, Student Services Building, State Farm Hall of Business, Watterson Towers South Tower and Julian Hall.
A faulty sensor at a substation was blamed for the Thursday outage, according to Ameren.
