Illinois State University has surpassed the fundraising goal of $150 million 13 months ahead of schedule.

Redbirds Rising: The Campaign for Illinois State began in July 2013 and was publicly announced in September 2017.

Most of the donations, over $100 million, were donated by alumni. The remaining donations came from corporations and friends of the university.

Redbirds Rising is the most ambitious donor campaign of the university to date, according to the campaign’s case statement. The campaign has had several accomplishments, including creating 23,000 new donors for the university. The campaign has received 25 gifts of $1 million or more, and over 500 gifts over $25,000.

The money from the campaign will support increased support of students, such as scholarships, as well as developing and innovating new ways of learning. Over $60 million of the funds will directly support student scholarships.

The campaign will continue until its end date of June 30, 2020.
